T&T netballers qualify for World Championships in 2011
The Trinidad and Tobago netball fraternity is beaming after the national team played unbeaten throughout the Americas Federation of Netball Associations qualifying tournament which took place in St. Lucia.The ‘calypso girls’ qualified for the world netball championship in Singapore 2011 and as a result Manager Carol Gittens says for that tougher tournament mental preparation is vital.
With the Commonwealth Games on the horizon Manager Gittens says that is a means of assessing the team’s readiness in addition they are seeking additional warm-up games for the team.
Ms. Gittens says the intention before leaving T&T was to win the qualifying tournament and according to the manager it’s a step towards T&T regaining their status as a netball force.
The victorious team having won the qualifiers and playing unbeaten, return home this evening at 8 o’clock.
